Christmas has arrived early for Kelly McCreary and her husband, Pete Chatmon. Actress Kelly McCreary and her husband welcomed their first child, daughter Indigo, several weeks early. The 40-year-old star of the popular TV show “Grey’s Anatomy” posted an adorable picture of a newborn daughter on Instagram announcing the early arrival of her child.
Talking with Entertainment Weekly, the actress shared the experience saying, “Emotionally, it has been a roller coaster, of course.” She further added, “Like many birthing people, about the only thing that went according to our birth plan was that the baby came out! I was just so relieved that we both made it through safely.” Her husband, Pete reposted the image with the caption reading, “Happy To Introduce This ‘Lil Lady!’ We Couldn’t Be More Happy.”
Talking with People, Kelly said, “We had planned a lovely, intimate home birth, but my bag of waters b**ke several weeks early, so I wound up delivering in the hospital,” says McCreary, who gave birth to her baby girl on Sunday, Oct. 3 in Los Angeles.” She further added, “Like many birthing people, about the only thing that went according to our birth plan was that the baby came out! I was just so relieved that we both made it through safely.
Indigo had to spend some time in the NICU to finish cooking, but fortunately, there were no other complications. She is home and healthy!” As the baby came early, she had to spend some time in NICU, revealed Kelly. She was thankful that other than early birth no other complications happened and her daughter is now home safe and healthy. It was a stressful moment for Kelly when her newborn daughter was in NICU, however, she was grateful that everything went alright.
Finally, she also expressed her gratitude to the doctors at Cedars Sinai for their incredible support and assistance. She acknowledged that the experience was a roller coaster ride with some very tense moments, full of self-doubt and stress. But in the end, everything was OK and that’s the best thing. Thanking her family for the incredible support she said, “I am grateful for an incredibly supportive family and community and so lucky to have several close friends who are also new moms and are sharing this journey with me.”
