This story is about one couple who faced these issues for over ten years. But now I finally became pregnant. Dr. Susie Troxler and her husband Tony Troxler from Greensboro, North Carolina, welcomed their first child, the age of 50 and 61, respectively. Susie is a psychologist, and her husband Tony works at Cone Health. They were happily married in 2008 and began trying for a baby afterward.

Getting married so long in life decreased their chance of conceiving, and along with some health issues from both husband and wife after every year may cause. The couple now loses their hope that the baby will ever come along. It’s because every doctor they talked to about the issue doesn’t give a bright side to having a baby due to their ages. There are several reasons why getting pregnant later in life is not recommended by doctors.

Problems like diabetes, mi**arria!es, ectopic pregnancy, pr**clam!sia, and even stillbirth are more common in women who conceive when they are getting older. After years and years of trying fertility treatments, the couple still didn’t get positive results. It wasn’t until but when they used their last embryo for IVF. They finally got miraculous news. In Fall 2021, they welcomed a little beautiful baby girl into their family, and they couldn’t be that happier in their life.

The Troxlers knew they wanted to be parents, but how difficult it would be to make that happen, they didn’t know. “We got married later in life, obviously, and we just assumed we would get pregnant like most people,” Susie said. “One year turned into two, then three, but when it got to be nine, 10, 11 years, we were like, something is up, and I’m not sure what it is.” With multiple health issues from both Susie and Tony, it would be impossible.

“I had a boatload of uterine fibroids. I was too old, and Tony had some medical issues, so, between the two of us, there was not going to be a baby,” Susie said. Doctors did not give any positive lines to encourage the couple. Susie explained, “They always said it nicely, but bottom line, when you take away all of the official medical jargon, it was a no! They said, ‘it’s not happening, so you’re going to need a whole lot of help.'”

But they finally got what they needed from waiting years, and years Troxler’s welcomed their baby into the world. “Before she was even born, she had me wrapped around her pinky,” laughed Tony. “I love her so much. Every time I look at her, I feel myself just staring at her. It’s amazing! The couple could not be more excited but, now that their little girl is finally in their life. Susie added, “We are thrilled. Sleep-deprived, but totally beyond worth it. She is a miracle baby.”
