A Stranger Gives Pregnant Woman Life-Changing Donation After Asking The Name Of Her Unborn Child

A small act of kindness can make someone’s life unpredictable. This is a story of something that one man found out after having a brief conversation with a waitress at breakfast in Stockbridge, Georgia. Eusebio Phelps is a pastor at New Faith Christian Church and found a new friend in 2020 when he picked up his food from a Waffle House.

The waitress who took his order over the phone & wrote it down was named Hannah Hill, and Phelps was sh**ked by how incredibly kind she had been. He wants to pay that kindness forward. And gave her the rest of the money in his wallet, which was about $40, and said, keep the change.

Then Phelps learned that Hill was pregnant more than eight months, so he wanted to do something for her baby too. Phelps had lost his son named Samuel about seven years ago, and now he wanted to do all he could to make sure for Hill and her baby. Then it turned out that both had more in common than previously they thought, as Hill revealed that her unborn child’s name was Samuel.

At that moment, Phelps wants to do something to help Hill and her soon-to-be-born baby. He quickly got to work connecting with other colleagues and made a post on social media asking people if they could donate. The goal was $1,000, but after less than a day, Phelps had raised a life-changing amount of money for the waitress.

“Phelps met Hill when she was more than eight months pregnant with her second child while waitressing at a breakfast diner”, according to 11Alive. And after learning that she was planning to name her son Samuel, he knew it was a sign that he needed to do something to help her. “Well we lost our son Samuel seven years ago in Atlanta,” Phelps said. “It’s coming up on the anniversary.”

At that moment, he decided to raise $1,000 to give to Hill. And made a Facebook post sharing Hill’s story and asked to donate if they could. The next day, he saw that he already exceeded his $1,000 goal, but the donations kept increasing. Phelps planned to surprise the waitress with the money in the night at her workplace, but she wasn’t there. At that point, the donations had totaled $6,500.

When Phelps and Hill were finally reconnected, the donations had amounted to more than $12,000, and everyone threw a surprise baby shower for Hill at Waffle House. According to 11Alive, Hill called the money “life-changing,” as she had been staying with her mom and trying to make ends meet. The waitress said she plans on using the money to get a place with the child’s father and help her buy a car and. The New Faith Christian Church is also going to help her with child care and responsibilities.
